Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Accountant:
- Manage international, federal, state, and local tax compliance.
- Collaborate with external "Big 4" tax advisors.
- Prepare estimated tax projections, tax-related communications, and tax provisions for blocker corporations.
- Handle tax filings, including Forms W-9/W-8, EIN applications, and 1099 reporting.
- Review K-1s, tax returns, and partnership income allocations.
- Assist with federal/state tax payments, tracking, and registration of new accounts.
- Assist with IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notices.
- Ensure compliance with FATCA, CRS, CT Corp, and Corporate Transparency Act requirements.
- Enhance processes, policies, and procedures.
- Document investment-specific compliance issues and reporting positions.
- Support FBAR, Business Personal Property Renditions, Fixed Assets, Transaction Cost analysis, USRPHC analysis, and Aircraft Disallowance calculations.
- Prepare IRS forms such as 8832 and 8937.
- Draft responses to tax inquiries from limited partners and co-investors.
- Coordinate tax data collection from portfolio companies.
- Contribute to additional analyses and assignments as needed.
Qualifications for the Senior Tax Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Tax from an accredited university required.
- CPA certification or candidacy is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting.
- Experience with partnership accounting and tax compliance is preferred; corporate tax experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to optimize system use.
